POSITION PURPOSE

The IT Techno-Functional Manager – SAP is responsible for leading the planning, design, implementation, and management of the SAP systems, ensuring alignment between business requirements and technical solutions. The role bridges functional and technical aspects of SAP, drives system optimization, integration, technical governance, and performance, and provides strategic guidance to support business objectives and digital transformation initiatives while managing a team of functional and technical experts.

JOB ROLES AND EXPECTATIONS

Key Result Area Key Roles / Duties

SAP Configuration, Customization & Integration

• Lead the implementation and configuration of the complete SAP suite, including the management of any custom developments to meet business needs.

• Integrate technical and functional expertise to create a comprehensive solution for complex business challenges.

• Lead the design, optimization, and maintenance of SAP systems to ensure stability, scalability, and compliance with SAP standards.

• Deliver SAP Projects across all phases, from requirements gathering, design, go-live, and post-implementation support.

• Provide strong functional and technical expertise, including debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting complex issues.

• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues to minimize business disruptions and ensure continuous system reliability.

• Identify improvement opportunities by working closely with business stakeholders to understand existing processes.

• Oversee performance tuning, system upgrades, and patches.

• Conduct SAP solution architecting, design, and implement  SAP that aligns with business goals and improves operational efficiency

• Implement agile practices to enhance project delivery and foster a collaborative work environment.

Stakeholder Management, Support & Continuous Improvement

• Advise business users, provide clear communication, train, and provide ongoing support to users

• Identify opportunities for process improvement, leverage new SAP technologies, and contribute to long-term system and business enhancements.

• Manage relationships with SAP Vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.

• Review deliverables to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives.

SAP Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure proper SAP access controls, user role design, and segregation of duties in line with internal controls and audit requirements.

• Support internal and external audits by providing system documentation and compliance evidence.

• Oversee change management processes to ensure system changes are controlled, documented, and approved.

• Maintain documentation standards.

• Ensure timelines and quality standards are met while following SAP best practices and project methodologies.

• Monitor system performance post go-live.

Data Migration, Management & Reporting

• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and governance of SAP master data.

• Support data migration activities during implementations and upgrades.

• Collaborate with business teams to enhance reporting capabilities and ensure reliable business intelligence outputs.

• Design and develop a robust data migration strategy to ensure seamless business continuity with no data loss from the legacy systems.
