Levy Mwanawasa Medical University invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the vacant position of Registrar.

JOB PURPOSE

The Registrar is the chief administrative officer of the University, responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of general administration, human resources management and academic support services, and for facilitating the implementation of University Council and Senate decisions in accordance with applicable laws, policies and regulations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Direct and coordinate student registration, admissions, examinations and general academic administration to support the effective delivery of academic programmes;

• Serve as secretary to the University Council and committees of Council, coordinate their meetings and committees, and ensure timely communication, implementation and follow-up of decisions;

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, University policies, regulations and statutory requirements, including coordination of legal advisory services;

• Coordinate the development, review and implementation of University policies, regulations, procedures and guidelines;

• Oversee administrative support services, including the provision of a safe and secure environment and the effective use and maintenance of University facilities;

• Promote ethical conduct, good governance, institutional values and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders;

• Coordinate the preparation and implementation of University annual work plans and budgets and monitor the efficient use of resources;
