Grade: KM5 Location: Siavonga, Zambia Reporting To: Management Accountant Tenure of Employment: Initial contract of three (3) years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance.

JOB SUMMARY

The Stores Officer is a middle management position responsible for the efficient and effective management of the organization’s inventory to support the achievement of its strategic goals and objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•

Plan, manage, and control warehouse operations, including stock planning, monitoring usage, and timely replenishment.

•

Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records and generate periodic inventory reports.

•

Support procurement processes by assisting with ordering materials and services to maintain optimal stock levels.

•

Identify and evaluate sourcing options for materials and prepare recommendations for management.

•

Ensure all procured materials meet specifications provided by user departments.

•

Conduct regular inventory audits, including stock counting and sampling.

•

Track orders, deliveries, and invoices, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.

•

Review inventory levels and recommend disposal of obsolete or redundant stock.

•

Prepare budget estimates for inventory requirements and support procurement planning.
