About the Role
Meliá Zanzibar is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its finance department. The role is responsible for overseeing complex financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, tax compliance (TRA), and general ledger management within a luxury resort environment.
Key Responsibilities
•
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with international financial reporting standards and internal group guidelines.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce compliance with Tanzanian tax laws, Zanzibar Revenue Authority (ZRA) / TRA regulations, filing statutory returns, and managing tax audits.

Budgeting & Cost ControlAssist in preparing annual operating budgets, monitoring department variance reports, and supporting cost control measures.
•
System & Ledger OversightMaintain general ledger integrity, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and manage property management / hotel accounting software integrations.
