In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That’s for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.

We’re solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don’t always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast.

How you’ll help us achieve it

Wave is now the largest financial institution in Senegal, with over 7 million users. And, we’re still in the early days of our product roadmap and potential impact on people’s everyday lives.

Our Distribution team plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our distribution network to drive user acquisition. Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our field sales teams, they strategically grow our user base and enhance customer outreach.

Our agent operations team plays a crucial role in building and maintaining a high-performing agent network with a strategic focus on driving our agent network strategy and nurturing our agent performance.

You will provide unparalleled administrative support to both teams to help them maximize their impact.

In this role, you’ll;

Data Analysis:

• Utilize strong data analysis skills to extract raw performance data from Periscope and create insightful, visual dashboards that communicate key metrics and trends.
• Prepare and deliver daily reports on agent operations and distribution team performance, highlighting insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Communicate Insights to Stakeholders through daily, weekly and monthly reports, effectively communicating findings and recommendations for progressive operational improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement on our teams through identifying opportunities for enhancing data reporting processes and methodologies, leveraging data to inform best practices across the distribution and agent operations teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to ensure alignment on performance metrics and objectives, promoting a data-driven culture within the company.
• Periodically review data processes, work with engineers and recommend improvements to guide various functions of the business to drive operational efficiencies.
