About Price Media
Price Media is a Uganda-based media, marketing and business growth agency. Our work includes video production, social media management, website design, corporate training and sales consulting.
We are looking for a Communications & Social Media Officer who can contribute meaningfully to the team.
The role
The Communications & Social Media Officer will plan, write, publish and manage content for Price Media’s own digital channels. You will write social media posts, emails and articles; coordinate with designers and video producers; manage publishing and community responses; and use performance data to improve the work.
You will work closely with the Head of Business to understand our ideas, services and point of view. The role requires someone who can take a rough brief or conversation, ask the right questions, and produce accurate copy that is ready to review and publish.
Your primary responsibility is Price Media’s own communication. You may also support selected client accounts when assigned, with the client brief, priorities and approval process agreed separately.
Key responsibilities
- Plan content around the business
- Develop and maintain a content calendar for Price Media’s services, programmes, events and thought leadership.
- Translate documented offers and audience information into relevant content topics and messages.
- Plan content for different stages of the customer journey, from initial awareness to enquiries and follow-up.
- Identify opportunities to reuse a webinar, workshop, article or video as several useful pieces of content.
- Write and edit
- Write clear, engaging social media posts for Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok, adapting the message and format to each platform.
- Draft email invitations, campaigns, follow-up messages, newsletters and articles.
- Interview or gather input from the founder and relevant team members to develop accurate content.
- Edit copy for clarity, grammar, tone, factual accuracy, and a clear next step for the reader.
- Maintain consistency across channels while allowing each platform to have its own appropriate style.
- Use AI responsibly in the writing process
- Use AI tools where helpful for research support, idea development, outlines, first drafts and editing.
- Check facts, claims, names, dates, and links against reliable source material before publication.
- Rewrite generic or inaccurate output so the final copy reflects Price Media’s voice and documented offers.
- Handle client information and unpublished business material according to Price Media’s guidance.
- Manage social media channels
- Schedule and publish approved content accurately and on time.
- Prepare captions, links, tags and platform-specific publishing details.
- Monitor comments, messages and mentions; respond within agreed guidelines or direct enquiries to the right person.
- Keep profiles, service descriptions and key links current.
- Monitor platform changes and recommend adjustments that are relevant to our audiences and goals.
- Work with the creative and sales teams
- Prepare clear briefs for graphics, photography and video content.
- Review creative work to check that the words, visuals and offer information match.
- Coordinate content deadlines and approvals with the founder, designers and video producers.
- Pass relevant enquiries to the sales team and record where they came from.
- Use recurring questions from prospects and clients to identify new content opportunities.
- Measure and improve
