Background

Rads Engineering and General Supply Company invites applications from suitably qualified, skilled and motivated individuals to fill two positions of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technicians. The successful candidates will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of air conditioning systems to ensure efficient, reliable and safe operation.

Job Purpose

To install, inspect, service, maintain and repair air conditioning systems, diagnose technical faults and ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and in accordance with applicable safety standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Installing, servicing and repairing air conditioning units, including split, window and other applicable systems.

• Conducting routine preventive maintenance and cleaning of air conditioning equipment.

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and refrigeration-related faults.

• Inspecting compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, filters, thermostats and other system components.

• Checking refrigerant levels, detecting leaks and carrying out refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging and recharging where required.

• Testing systems after installation or repair to ensure proper functionality and energy efficiency.

• Identifying defective components and recommending appropriate repairs or replacements.

• Responding to service requests and completing assigned maintenance and repair work within agreed timelines.

• Maintaining accurate records of work completed, faults identified, materials used and services provided.

• Ensuring proper use, storage and maintenance of tools, equipment and materials.
