The Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI) invites applications from qualified and motivated Tanzanian graduates to fill various internship positions for the 2026/2027 financial year. This internship programme is specifically designed to provide young graduates with practical workplace experience, professional mentorship, and opportunities to enhance their skills and competencies.
Public Relations Officer II (1 post)
Duties and Responsibilities
- To collect and compile news for the Institute’s newsletter;
- To collect and compile information to assist in the preparation of annual reports, booklets, speeches, prospectuses, etc.;
- To ensure proper recording and filing of press cuttings for public relations purposes and responses;
- To assist in facilitating conferences, seminars, ceremonies, and the production of radio and television programmes;
- To deal with customer inquiries relating to the quality and availability of services;
- To supervise the production and distribution of calendars, diaries, greeting cards and posters;
- To report public criticisms and complaints to the immediate supervisor;
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualification
Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communication, International Relations, Business Communication, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
