Position details
- Position: HR Generalist
- Number of positions: One
- Duty station: Kilimanjaro (JRO)
- Reports to: HR Manager/Station Manager
- Contract type: Fixed-term contract
Role profile
The HR Generalist will provide general technical guidance and support for the company’s established human resource programmes.
The role will also ensure the company complies with labour laws concerning employment, trade unions, workplace safety and workman compensation.
Responsibilities
The HR Generalist will:
- Ensure staff adhere to Security, Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
- Ensure staff data in the Human Resource Management System (HRMS), such as D.A.T.E, is accurate and up to date.
- Prepare and file court documents, including plaints, written statements and counterclaims, and prepare company witnesses and evidence.
- Oversee compliance with the company’s code of conduct and related administrative policies.
- Manage disputes arising from labour relations.
- Ensure onboarding programmes, confirmations, changes of titles and contracts are handled on time.
- Represent the company at the Commission for Mediation and Arbitration (CMA) and other courts.
- Provide training and support to operational leaders on staff engagement issues.
- Reconcile the general employees’ payroll.
- Manage the employee sickness-tracking tool.
- Manage Loan Board issues.
- Lead, plan and manage HR administrative activities.
- Manage headcount reporting through DCM, Heatmap and Labour Relations.
- Assist in preparing monthly HR reports for management.
- Plan and organise employee engagement programmes.
- Plan and coordinate departmental meetings.
- Work with the Planning team to ensure staff data is accurate and identify gaps.
- Oversee staff welfare and organise health sensitisation and awareness training.
- Address absenteeism challenges with operational leaders.
- Work closely with the Training team to ensure all staff attend training as planned.
- Ensure all employees are provided with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and use it correctly.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to manage the procurement of staff uniforms.
- Ensure all social scheme matters and staff welfare issues are properly handled and managed.
