OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
- Plan, coordinate and supervise the safe, efficient and reliable daily distribution of fuel to mining equipment and supporting equipment across the mine site in compliance with fuel management standards.
- Support mine production through continuous fuel truck availability, accurate fuel distribution records, reduced fuel losses, prevention of contamination and theft, and full compliance with Health, Safety, Security and Environmental standards.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Plan and coordinate daily fuel distribution to meet mine production requirements and ensure timely refuelling of mining equipment, mobile fleets, generators and other authorized equipment.
- Supervise fuel bowser operators across shifts, allocate work and fuelling routes, and coordinate emergency refuelling requirements with Mining and Maintenance departments.
- Ensure fuel transactions are accurately captured in the fuel management system and manual records, verify transaction details, submit shift documentation, and monitor fuel-management equipment and meter calibration.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to maintain fuel bowsers, flow meters and dispensing equipment, report defects, follow up corrective and preventive maintenance, and confirm repaired equipment is safe before return to service.
- Lead and develop the fuel distribution team through pre-shift meetings, daily briefings, performance monitoring, coaching, training support, and promotion of teamwork and safety culture.
