Job Description
NMB Bank Plc is recruiting for six Head Office positions across credit, finance, retail banking, relationship management and operational risk. The vacancies include Credit Analyst, Manager Finance & Control, Product Manager Assets, Relationship Manager; Parastatals, Senior Finance Analyst and Senior Specialist; Operational Risk MIS & Data Analytics.
The positions require relevant professional experience in banking, finance, accounting, credit, product management, relationship management or risk, depending on the role. Role overview
The Credit Analyst is responsible for ensuring timely and quality assessment of proposals for new and existing credit facilities using sound credit and financial principles. The role assesses lending requests and counter-party credit risk while recommending appropriate terms and conditions to manage the bank’s exposure.
Main responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate requests for new and existing credit facilities using sound credit, financial and policy principles.
- Determine whether credit proposals meet required criteria and whether counter-party credit risk is within acceptable parameters.
- Independently recommend appropriate credit proposals and terms or conditions needed to manage exposure.
- Review business information to understand profitability, value drivers and associated risks.
- Defend professional credit judgement without negatively affecting business relationships.
- Use industry and market information to identify threats affecting existing and prospective clients.
- Work with business counterparts to improve credit-proposal quality and turnaround time.
- Share responsibility for business recommended for credit.
- Recommend appropriate remedial action where deteriorating exposure is identified.
- Observe applicable service-level agreements without compromising the quality of credit proposals.
Knowledge and skills
Candidates should understand lending to industry sectors such as mining, tourism and agriculture together with their related regulations.

- Knowledge of bank credit products.
- Detailed knowledge of credit-analysis techniques.
- Strong analytical and numerical ability.
- Communication and presentation skills.

- Proven interpersonal skills within a business or credit environment.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics. Finance, Business or related fields.
- Master’s degree in business studies is an added advantage.
- Banking certification(s) is an added advantage.
- At least 3 years’ proven experience in a Credit role within the banking sector.
- Prior Banking experience in lending to MSE and SME will be an added advantage.
Manager Finance & Control

Role overview
The Manager Finance & Control is responsible for accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions, cost analysis, budgeting, budgetary control and the efficiency and effectiveness of payment processes.
Main responsibilities
- Manage accounting operations including charts of accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost analysis and month/year-end processes.
- Ensure financial transactions, systems and procedures comply with local and international regulations, accounting principles and standards.
- Advise management on financial matters and the impact of local and international financial-reporting standards.
- Work with Senior Managers on financial forecasting, stakeholder engagement, annual budgeting and bank strategy.
- Monitor General Ledgers and cost-centre budgets and engage cost-centre owners on identified variances.
- Ensure invoices and staff claims are processed within agreed service levels while maintaining reliable records and audit trails.
- Resolve queries involving P2P, GL access, refunds and reversals within agreed turnaround times.
- Follow up receivable accounts, including intercompany and government accounts, to clear outstanding items.
- Support Finance Analysts and Senior Finance Analysts in understanding finance processes and departmental objectives.
- Monitor the Finance Risk Register and ensure controls remain effective and operational.
- Support compliance with finance processes, procedures and policies.
- Contribute to staff training, performance management and coaching.
Candidates should understand financial control and management together with the application of bank products, policies and procedures.
