Position summary

The Accountant will manage Securiport Tanzania’s day-to-day accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records and support financial reporting. The position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory obligations, company policies and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

The Accountant will:

• Record daily transactions in the accounting system.

• Maintain the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.

• Prepare and process journals, accruals, prepayments and adjustments.

• Process supplier invoices and payment documentation.

• Reconcile customer and supplier accounts.

• Perform regular bank reconciliations.

• Maintain proper documentation for payments and receipts.

• Assist in preparing periodic reports and annual financial statements.

• Provide supporting schedules and information to management and auditors.

• Assist in preparing tax computations and statutory returns.

• Maintain appropriate tax records and supporting documentation.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• Three to five years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a structured corporate environment.

• A CPA qualification, which will be considered an advantage.
