Finance Specialist

I. Core Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Record, review and file daily financial vouchers of the subsidiary.
• Perform accurate and complete monthly, quarterly and annual bookkeeping.
• Maintain general ledgers and subledgers to ensure clear and correct accounting records.
• Prepare local statutory financial statements on schedule.

Tax Compliance & Reporting

• Proficient in Tanzanian tax laws; responsible for calculation, filing and payment of all corporate taxes (including income tax, VAT, withholding tax, etc.).
• Monitor updates to tax regulations in a timely manner to ensure full tax compliance.
• Handle daily tax matters such as tax registration and invoice management.
• Assist in responding to tax audits and inquiries, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

External Coordination & Liaison

• Act as the company’s financial representative in daily communications with local tax authorities, banks, audit firms, law firms and other external institutions.
• Manage bank account-related matters (account opening, changes, fund transfers, etc.) and maintain good banking relationships.
• Coordinate external annual audits, provide required documents and follow up on audit progress.
• Handle other financial compliance matters with local government authorities.

Other Supportive Tasks

• Support the headquarters finance team by providing financial data and reports as required.
• Assist in local cost control and expense verification.
• Participate in or support the local preparation of the annual budget.
• Safeguard important financial documents to ensure data security and integrity.
