Environmental Health Safety Specialist
Job Purpose
- The EHS Specialist will be responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) standards within the factory. The role involves conducting routine workplace inspections, identifying hazards, assessing risks, implementing corrective actions, supporting incident investigations, and promoting a strong safety culture across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
Workplace & Factory Inspections:
- Conduct daily workplace, production area, warehouse, machinery, and factory inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and HSE non-compliance.
- Monitor compliance with company EHS policies, procedures, safe work practices, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Document inspection findings and prepare reports for management.
- Follow up on identified hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented and effectively closed.
Risk Assessment & Hazard Control
- Identify workplace hazards and participate in risk assessments for different work activities and processes.
- Recommend appropriate control measures based on the hierarchy of controls.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Support Job Safety Analysis (JSA/JHA) and safe work procedure development.
Safety Awareness & Communication:
- Conduct daily or scheduled toolbox talks and safety briefings before work activities.
- Conduct safety awareness sessions and campaigns for employees and contractors.
- Promote positive safety behavior and encourage employees to report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Incident & Accident Management
- Assist in investigating workplace accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences.
